Velasof Tablet

Velasof is used in combination with other medications such as ribavirin, daclatasvir and peginterferon to treat chronic hepatitis C. It functions by reducing the hepatitis C virus in the body. This helps to keep liver disorders such as cirrhosis and liver cancer at bay.
On using this medication you may experience side effects such as diarrhoea, itchiness, headache, nausea, drowsiness, rapid breathing, rapid heartbeat and skin paleness. If your reactions persist, seek the help of your health care provider right away.

Uses of Velasof

Hetero Velasof (Sofosbuvir and Velpatasvir) Tablet Use  to treat chronic (long-lasting) hepatitis C, a viral infection of the liver. It may sometimes be used with another antiviral medication (ribavirin). Velpatasvir/Sofosbuvir (Velasof ) is a two-drug combination which is used to treat chronic hepatitis C (an ongoing viral infection that damages the liver). It may sometimes be used with another antiviral medication

Velasof Tablet  work

Velasof Tablet is an antiviral drug. It works by lowering a load of hepatitis C virus in the body and removing the virus from the blood over a period of time.
Velpatasvir is an antiviral drug. It works by lowering a load of hepatitis C virus in the body and removing the virus from the blood over a period of time.

Warning of Velasof tablet

  • Velasof t is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Velasof Tablet is recommended.
  • However, inform your doctor if you have any kidney disease as regular monitoring of liver function tests may be advised in some patients while taking this medicine.
  • Velasof Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy.
  • Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
  • Velasof  Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.

Side effect

In addition to its intended effect, Velasof Tab t may cause some unwanted effects too. In such cases, you must seek medical attention immediately. This is not an exhaustive list of side effects. Please inform your doctor if you experience any adverse reaction to the medication.
  •  Fatigue
  •  Nausea
  •  Headache
  •  Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping)
  •  Anemia.

Storage of Velasof

  • Store Velasof Tablet in a cool and dry place (Not in refrigerator).
  • Discard the medicine if its expiry date has crossed.
  • Keep this HCV medicine away from the reach of children or pets. A locked cupboard at least one-and-a-half meters above the ground is a good place to store medicines.
  • Keep your tablets in the original container until it is time to take them.
  • Do not store Velasof or any other medicine in the bathroom or near the kitchen sink. Do not leave it in the car. Heat and dampness can destroy some medicines.
